The Cottages

We are very proud of the high quality of cottage we have to offer and we work hard to make sure our guests have a great holiday.

Our equestrian and trekking centre was once a traditional dairy farm and we recently had our redundant farmyard buildings converted into four high quality self catering cottages; The Barn, The Cheese Loft, The Stable and The Dairy Cottage. A partially enclosed area at the rear has been developed into an attractive courtyard and each cottage has a front garden with great views over our rolling countryside. At Lochhill we offer our guests our exceptional amenities. You are able to explore our 73 acres of land and discover all about our horses.

In addition to having all the facilities of our equestrian and trekking centre on your doorstep we can offer you the opportunity to bring your own horses with you and extend your holiday experience. There are also beautiful woodland walks beginning right from your front door. We even have our own waterfall!

Of course you don't have to be interested in horses to enjoy a stay at Lochhill. We live in a beautiful area which has lots of great places to explore and relax in or for the more energetic we have great golf courses, open gardens, fishing etc all within 30 minutes drive and the seashore is even closer.

7Stanes Mountain Biking
Here at Lochhill we are within easy travelling distance of the 7stanes Centres at Kirroughtree, Gren Trool and Dalbeattie Forest. We welcome bikers at our cottages and there is secure storage for cycles and excellent laundry and drying facilities for wet clothes etc.

For walking and cycling enthusiasts we have quiet roads beginning right at our farm and unexplored forest roads less than 10 minutes away.

The excellent towns of Kirkcudbright (Artists Town) Castle Douglas (Food Town) and Gatehouse of Fleet are each only 10 to 15 minutes away and provide totally different visitor experiences.
